The music association collaborates with Fulton schools' music faculty to share award applications with seniors at G. Ray Bodley High School to earn a cash award. Applicants, in addition to an application and essay, must audition for a committee of both music faculty and FMA board members. This committee selects winners, who will perform at the annual spring community concert.
In honor and memory of Mary A. and Ernest A. Hamer and their love and support of music, especially in Fulton, New York, their family established this scholarship for a graduating senior from the Fulton Music Program. The recipient will exhibit a similar love for music with plans to pursue a career in music but also exhibit character traits the Hamers embodied: service to others, to their community and to their country. The winner performs at the spring Community Concert
